This loosey-juicy alt-rock folk-goth collective known as The Willard Grant Conspiracy, lead by Lancaster Robert Fisher, plays their unique brand of Americana noir to sold-out crowds in Denmark, Ireland, Holland, France, Britain, Australia, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, New Zealand and the U.S., but the Antelope Valley's very own Robert Fisher, their main man, he of the cavern-deep voice and nimble guitar work, just can't get arrested where he actually lives! Let's see if we can get that fixed.
According to the All Music Guide, "Willard Grant merge familiar rock and folk archetypes with some creepy sounds of their own, pushing them closer in spirit to the Louvin Brothers, Lee Hazlewood and Nick Cave than any of their more immediate contemporaries in the No Depression scene."
I say "The Basement Tapes meets the Velvet Underground."
