TRACY NEWMAN
& THE REINFORCEMENTS

TV writer and producer, Tracy has been a staff writer on Cheers, The Nanny, Ellen, According to Jim and Drew Carey and in 1997 scored an Emmy and the prestigious Peabody Award for co-writing the coming out episode of Ellen, but all this time she's been writing songs as well. And damn clever, witty songs at that. You'll hum, you'll tap your feet, you'll snort coffee through your nose.

Among her wide-romping influences are Merle Haggard, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Lucinda Williams, Mark Knopfler, Joni Mitchell, Paul McCartney, Boz Scaggs and Dan Hicks. Along with her trusty sidekicks, The Reinforcements (Rebecca Leigh and Gene Lippmann) and when possible John Cartwright (bass), John OíKennedy (mandolin, dobro, etc), and Doug Knoll on drums, Tracy offers a really great show, full of wit and warmth. She's recently released her first CD, A Place in the Sun, and has also appeared on the benefit album Beautiful by Women on the Move.
