Doug Moon is perhaps best known for his stint as one of the original members of the legendary Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band (the joke is that Doug knew the captain when he was just a private), but his contributions to American music go far beyond that. A multi-year award winner at the Topanga Banjo and Fiddle Contest and long-time supporter of songmakers.org, Doug's simplya great vocalist and musician, equally at home on guitar, slide, harmonica, dobro and banjo, and knows his way around everything from blues to bluegrass like nobody's business.

And, oh yeah, he's a nice guy too.
